You tell this service about your own life, so it holds things that matter to you. We store what is needed to remember your stories and track what you are learning, and nothing else. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

Your email address, to sign you in. What you say, as text: the transcript of your side of the conversation and what the assistant replied. What it remembered: short summaries of episodes from your life, so it can bring them up again. What you are learning: words and phrases, and a record of when you recognised, recalled or used each one. Things you said were coming up, so it can ask how they went.

What it cost to run: how long you spoke for and how much the providers charged, so we can keep the service affordable and stop one account running up an unbounded bill. Audio of your voice is sent for transcription and is not stored by us afterwards. Your browser’s language setting is used to choose the language of the first greeting; it is a hint for that one moment and is not recorded as anything about you.

To provide the service you asked for, and — for anything sensitive you happen to tell it — because you chose to say it. You can withdraw that at any time by asking us to delete your account.

Only the suppliers that make the service work, and only the part each one needs: a hosting provider, a database provider, a speech-to-text provider for the audio of what you just said, a language-model provider for the text of the conversation, and a text-to-speech provider for the words spoken back. They process it on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

These providers operate in the United States and the European Union.

For as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete it and everything above goes with it, normally within thirty days.

You do not have to ask us for most of this. What it remembers shows everything it holds about your life, and lets you correct any of it, tell it not to raise something, or remove it for good. What you are learning shows the rest. Your account deletes everything, immediately and permanently.

For a copy of what we hold, or anything the pages above do not cover, get in touch. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

This service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand basic website usage, such as page views and which pages people visit. It is cookieless, and it is not used for advertising or for tracking you across other sites. Vercel is the company that hosts this site and processes these counts on our behalf.

How the product itself is used — how many people finished a first conversation, how many came back — is counted in our own database alongside everything else. Those counts record that something happened and never what was said: no transcripts, no memories, no words you are learning. Nothing from inside a conversation is ever sent to analytics.
